The intelligent mirror is applicable to the liquid phase detection of intermittent layering in the extraction section of the synthesis of fine chemicals, pesticides and pharmaceuticals. It can quickly and reliably detect the water phase, oil phase and mixed phase (emulsion layer), and has a sensitive response to bubbles, emulsion layer and impurities. The output signal can be interfaced with the DCS system to control the corresponding valves and realize the automatic control of liquid phase stratified discharge.
The following is the liquid phase stratification process of a pharmaceutical enterprise in Zhejiang.

The liquid is separated downward, and the heavy phase is separated from the middle layer. The heavy phase response value is high when the material is normally divided, but the middle layer response value is very low, which can complete the two-phase material separation well.
When the flow rate is fast, the interface in the reactor is damaged, and part of the middle layer is brought out in advance. The intelligent mirror detects that the response value is lower than the normal heavy phase, and enters into abnormal processing:
1. Cut off the dispensing valve and leave it standing.
2. Make judgment after standing. If the response value is in the heavy phase interval, continue to discharge. If it is in the middle layer interval, end the heavy phase layering. If it is in other response value intervals, report abnormality and turn to manual processing.
3. After many times of standing and subdivision, all heavy phases are separated.
After discharging and standing, the response value is in the middle layer. It is judged that the heavy phase has been separated at this time. Close the discharging valve and feed for secondary reaction.
